Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Snapwalk (the mobile app and this website). By using the service, you agree to these Terms. This page is a plain-language starting draft — not legal counsel.

The service

Snapwalk helps you snap a photo of a meal, receive an honest calorie range (or a refusal when the plate is too complex to estimate fairly), and see a walk or run distance-debt based on your weight and activity preference. Features may include a free daily scan quota and an optional paid Pro subscription that bypasses that quota. The product is pre-release; features on this website describe the planned app.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
  • Upload photos or content you do not have the right to process.
  • Attempt to bypass quotas, entitlements, payment systems, or security controls.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service in a way that harms other users or our systems.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting support or using the app.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these rules.

Health and estimate disclaimer

Calorie ranges and distance-debt figures are estimates generated with automated vision models and conversion formulas. They can be incomplete or incorrect. Snapwalk is not medical advice, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional nutrition or fitness guidance. Do not rely on it for clinical, safety-critical, or dietary decisions that require a clinician.

Subscriptions and billing

When paid plans are offered, they are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat. Prices, trial length, and renewal terms are shown in the store listing and purchase sheet before you confirm. Manage or cancel renewals in your store account settings. Refunds are handled under the store’s policies unless applicable law says otherwise.

Intellectual property

Snapwalk, including its branding, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors. You keep rights to content you submit, and you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide and improve the service.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that calorie or distance estimates are accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snapwalk and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum allowed.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits and governing law) will survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing jurisdiction — e.g. the State of California, USA], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue, except where consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
