Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Snapwalk (“Snapwalk,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile app and this website. It is written in plain language as a starting point — not legal advice.

Information we collect

  • Account data: email address and name when you create or sign in to an account.
  • Content you submit: meal photos you scan (sent to the vision model, never stored by us), calorie corrections you enter, weight and walk/run preference from onboarding, and timezone used for the daily scan quota.
  • Usage and entitlement data: daily free-scan counts, Pro subscription status, and product events needed to run the service.
  • Early-access waitlist (this site): email and native-language preference if you join before launch.

How we use your information

  • To estimate calorie ranges from meal photos and convert them into a walk/run distance-debt using your weight and activity preference.
  • To enforce the free daily scan quota and Pro entitlements.
  • To process subscriptions and restore purchases.
  • To notify waitlist subscribers when the app launches.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.
  • To improve reliability and understand how the product is used (for example product analytics).

Third-party processors we use

We use the following services to operate Snapwalk. Each processes data only as needed for its role:

  • Supabase — authentication and database. Processes account data (email, name / auth identity) and your app records (profile, scan history, distance-debt, quota, subscription status).
  • NestJS (our application API) — runs core product logic on our servers. Processes authenticated requests for onboarding, scan submission, estimate correction, quota, distance-debt, and subscription status.
  • Google Gemini — vision-model inference for calorie estimation. Processes meal photos (and related request context) sent server-side to produce an estimate or a multi-dish refusal. Do not submit photos you are not comfortable sending to this processor.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. Processes purchase receipts, subscription status, and identifiers needed to update your Pro entitlement via server webhooks.
  • Coolify — hosting/deployment of our backend and this landing page. Processes server traffic and logs related to running the NestJS API and static site (not a separate consumer of your meal content beyond hosting the systems that store and process it).

Legal bases and sharing

We share data with the processors above to provide the service you request. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Snapwalk and our users.

Data retention

We do not store your meal photos. A photo is sent to the vision model, turned into a calorie range, and discarded — it is never written to our storage. What we keep is the result: the calorie range, any correction you make, and your distance for the day.

We keep that account and result data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting us. Backup and legal retention windows may apply for a limited time after deletion.

Children

Snapwalk is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • You can use limited free features without a paid subscription once the app ships.
  • You can log out or request account deletion by contacting support.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

International transfers

Our processors may store or process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
